Have you ever found yourself living chained to the things Jesus has freed you from because you think the chains are stronger than the breakthrough? The reality is that we all live chained to something, but it doesn’t mean that we have to live in captivity to it.
What can we do to get us out of being stuck? How do we start seeing the changes we are desperate to see in our lives? How do we get to where we want to be, even when we are waist deep in our pain, in our hurt, and in our fears?
This past Sunday, Pastor Chris brought a new perspective of taking ownership of breakthrough during the first week of the our new series, WALK, here at People Church.
He challenged us with a simple question: “What if it was as simple as going and getting it?”
Your relationship with Jesus...Your healing...Your breakthrough...Your freedom...Your joy.
What if it’s that simple? Faith requires action, and our walk is our faith.
There is power in getting up and moving towards the breakthrough Jesus sets out for us. Jesus asks us to get ready and to move. Just as Jesus promised the Israelites the Promise Land in Joshua 1, He promises us a place we can set our feet where no one will be able to stand against. He promises to be with us, to never leave us, and to never forsake us.
We are called to walk.
- We must walk in our new identity. The second we know Jesus, we don’t have to carry who we were in our problems. We can be who we are in our purpose.
- We must walk in the right direction. We have to get up and leave the chains behind. We have to shake off the dust. You may try walking somewhere and the door might be closed. Some places may not value you, but you don’t have to stay there. Keep going. Keep putting feet to your faith.
- We must step out so God can step in. How will we ever know His faithfulness if we don’t give Him the room to do so? God is not going to push us out of the way.
Where we walk can change us.
Have the courage to get up and to walk away from the things that have chained you down. Walk towards what God is calling you to, and trust that He is with you in the midst of it.
He who promised is faithful.
He is with you, He sees you, and He will never forsake you.
